The signing ceremony for the new sponsorship and donation contract was held on Monday, 16 December 2024, at Ljudski vrt Stadium in Maribor. The event was attended by signatories of the contract, John Denhof, OTP banka CEO, Gvido Jemenšek, OTP banka Management Board member, and Bojan Ban, Director of Maribor FC. Also attending the event was Cem Başgül, representative of the new owner of the club and Director of Football Operations at Maribor FC.
Statement of Bojan Ban, Director of Maribor FC, at the signing: “We are proud to continue our cooperation with OTP banka in the future. This extends beyond just financial support. The long-standing partnership, which has been exemplary, is far from a coincidence as well; it became a symbol of trust and encouragement for our club. By signing the new contract, we can further build on our shared steps we took in the past, and we are convinced that we can reach new competitive achievements together and contribute to expanding the visibility of Maribor, both the football club and the city. Our shared story has always been based on the local environment and became a tradition both nationally and internationally.
